Recently had occasion to visit remote parts of Irian Jawa delivering a boat and found your table very useful and being moored in a river was able to confirm that predictions for the area in question were very accurate when calculating distance from tide marker.

I've been using Ver 2.2 for several years and have finally upgraded. The last few years I have cruised the Bahamas, though I originally brought the boat from San Francisco to Maine and back again, then back to the east coast again. The program has been a huge help to me up and down the east coast. Thanks, Ted

I think the program is fantastic, I've checked it continously against locally produced tide charts printed by the Government and in all cases found it to be totally accurate in height predictions and only three or four minutes out in time predictions. The only big problem is with the4 UTC offset. In Sydney we are +10 hours and if I run this offset in Windows Time/Date settings all of the tide predictions and current time are exactly one hour out. I've fixed this by running a +9 hour offset in Windows Time/Date in Control panel. The computer is running on Yakutsk Time Zone which is +9. I noticed in your "work to be done" you are going to try and correct this. Is there a any way this offset can be corrected in the config file, if there is I'd love to hear from you. Any way it's still a great program to run and it's loaded into the boat computer. All the best, a very satisfied user. Peter Wall

I've enjoyed using your wintide software in the past to explore tidal variations around the globe. I first encountered the software about four years ago, on my old Win3.1 system. When I upgraded to a Win98 system, I didn't move the software and lost track of it. Just now, I tracked your website down, downloaded WXtide32, and hope once again to continue my explorations. I'll let you know how I make out. (PS: I've found your website to be very well done!) Ed Toohey

A pretty site to visit and well worth it. You do a great service promulgating a good fee tide prediction programme. Thank you. Am still dreaming of doing some deep sea sailing to the Caribbean. I might make it yet. I am now semi-retired, so only half to go then I am free.

enjoyed reading your site, especially the tidal charts, unfortunately they don'nt reach here in south wales which is understandable. it being the middle of winter and our sea temperatures are plumeting fast. If you ever get the chance check out the gower coast in south wales (uk). some epic surfing conditions and fantastic scenery. all the best roy.

I love this program. It is accurate to within 5 min. and .25 ft. Most of the time. Very convenient not having to search out a tide book all the time.

I've used your tide programm for some years now especially on the coasts of Holland Belgium France UK Portugal and Spain. I've compared the data many times with oficial local publishments and found that they are accurate enough for navigation. Never more than half an hour difference. That, with the perfect presentation and the many stations all over the world, makes WXtide32 a very useful program to have on your computer on board. Thanks a lot.

A friend just found your site and this is my first visit. My husband and I plan on starting our path south next fall and I look forward to reviewing all the wisdom you've gathered. We are 3 year livaboards on a 1980 46 ft. Irwin in the Oyster Cove Marina in S. San Francisco. The Chalet Mer is a solid cruiser and is currently being outfitted with some cruising necessities. I also hope to start a web page so that our family and friends can keep in touch with us. Thanks for sharing with all of us and I look forward to reading your journals from start to finish! Thanks, Pat

Like yourselves, I love cruising and have spent half of each month the past 25 years in the Bahamas. Suffered an injury that left me paralyzed from the waist down a yeart ago and now spend my time designing systems to make vessels accessable to their handicapped owners. Have used WxTide for years, it's the best. Are you permanently in Tampa or do you get the oportunity to move around?

Situation critical: Appeal to Japan to save Little Tern Known as migratory birds travelling between Australia and Japan, Little Terns(Sterna albifrons) are facing extinction. Every spring, 300 to 500 birds migrate to one of Japan's largest surviving colonies located in Atsugi, Kanagawa. @This colony is now seriously threatened by roadworks planned for the area. We may protect the Little Tern colony, please write your views and mail them to the addresses mentioned in the above page. It is the only form of bargaining power we have left. Your letter may help save the Little Terns. Please do not forget to send your letters of concern to major newspapers, publishers and TV stations. If these mass media organisations are inundated with letters to save the Little Tern, there is a strong chance they will collate your opinions into an article, and in so doing, get the word out to a larger cross-section of the community. This is but one way of lifting awareness levels, and hopefully saving the Tern.Thank you.
